Effective communication

For people who have to communicate a lot at work; also, for those who want to reduce stress when interacting with certain people and for anyone else who just wants to improve their communication skill with others.

 

Expected change after completing the course:

  • Participants will learn how to speak for others to understand them and will learn how to listen for others to keep on speaking.
  • Participants will understand that listening, as well as speaking, is learned and will acquire knowledge on how to learn it.
  • Participants will learn ways to improve their communication skills.
  • Participants will gain an understanding on how to constructively express dissatisfaction.

 

Duration:

4 academic hours or 8 academic hours (during the longer training the time would be devoted to a wide range of practical tasks and discussions).

 

Training structure (8 academic hours):

  1. What is communication, what are and can be the ways of communication (1 academic hour)
  2. Active listening: how does it work? (2 academic hours)
  3. Empathy and its development (1 academic hour)
  4. Strategies for effective communication (2 academic hours)
  5. Constructive expression of dissatisfaction (1 academic hour)
  6. Non-violent communication (1 academic hour)

At least 60 % of the training time is devoted to practical tasks.

 

Training structure (4 academic hours):

  1. What is communication, what are and can be the ways of communication (30 minutes)
  2. Active listening: how does it work? (2 academic hours)
  3. Strategies for effective communication (1.5 academic hours)

At least 50 % of the training time is devoted to practical tasks

 

Price:

175 euros for 1 academic hour (Public enterprise “Youth line” is not VAT payer)

 

Participants and the lecturer:

Participants: optimal size of the group – up to 12 people.

There is an option for a 1.5-hour duration lecture, price – contractual.

The courses are held by the lecturer from the “Youth line”.
